Design and Development of Hybrid Bus Controller Archive - IT ...

Abstract

Due to low energy consumption and light pollution, new energy vehicles have become the main theme of today?s auto industry. The hybrid vehicles, which have an obvious energy-saving effect and the most technical feasibility, are attracting increasing attention. At present, Hybrid-Electric Vehicle (HEV) has been developed much widely in Japan, Europe and America, its development is also very fast in China. HEV needs engine, motor and battery to work harmoniously, so all the components should often change their work mode under the control strategy and set the harsh request to the performance of Hybrid Control Unit (HCU).HCU is the core component of the hybrid bus control system. It can calculate required parameters such as engine output power, motor and generator torque etc. by the input signals such as driver attempts, accelerate pedal position and the state of charge (SOC) of battery. So, it can make the power components cooperate and ensure the bus to run normally. In addition, it can help the bus to achieve higher energy efficiency by braking regeneration. Therefore, the design of HCU will directly affect the car?s power performance, economy and reliability. This paper analyses the specific requirement of the vehicle network combined with a parallel hybrid prototype, and designs the vehicle communication protocol. Finally, the overall design of the HCU is proposed according to its functions and needs. In the hardware design of the HCU, MC9S12XEP100of Freescale?s16-bit microcontroller is selected as the main control chip.Combined with the controller?s work environment, the anti-jamming and PCB are also designed. In the software design of the HCU, the operating mode of the hybrid buses is analyzed based on the logic threshold control strategy, and the MSCAN driver program is written. Finally the use and configuration of the co-processor XGATE is introduced in detail. Finally, the paper describes the bed test of the HCU and verifies its function through typical experiments. Related experiments show that the HCU designed in this paper is safe, reliable and meets the initial design requirement.
