STEM intern/co-op presentations set for Aug. 8 and 9 ? YSU News ...

Students in Youngstown State University?s College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics who are working as interns/co-ops this summer will make presentations about their experience Wednesday and Thursday, Aug. 8 and 9.

The STEM Professional Practice Experiential Learning Presentations will be 3 p.m. Aug. 8 for computer technology students and 6 p.m. Aug. 9 for engineering/science students. The purpose of the events is to assist students with their presentation skills and transition to the business world, to allow faculty to find out more about the students? experiences and how they relate to academics, and to expose the business community to intern/co-op opportunities.

In all, 18 students will make presentations. Companies and organizations that had interns/co-ops this summer are GE Lighting, ms consultants, Delphi, Dearing Compressor and Pump Co., ACA Engineering, NLMK-Pennsylvania, BM Bruce & Merrilees Electric Co., Ohio Department of Transportation, Timken, Wee Care Day Care, Baird Brothers, Salem Tube, Avrem Technologies, Mahoning County Sheriff?s Department, Fed Ex, Data Recovery Services and Sensource.
